Qurum (or Qurm) is one of the top three favourite places to live in Muscat for expats. The other two being Madinat Sultan Qaboos and Madinat Al Alam.
It is one of the largest neighbourhoods in terms of area size. Extending from the border of Madinat Sultan Qaboos to the Crowne Plaza Hotel. And all the way to PDO Heights.

The area around the Crowne Plaza is known as Qurm Heights. Yes this is because it is at an elevated level.
Here you will find great views of the ocean. Also many beach front or even cliff top homes. Sadly they are not normally available. For many Omani home owners prefer to live here too.
Qurm is quite diverse in terms of the ‘best’ place to live. The most preferred areas of residence are Qurm Heights. Rabiyat Al Qurm, Qurm 29 or Qurm 16. Of course also Shatti Al Qurm. Which means ‘Shatti on the beach’.

The Muscat Expressway actually begins at the Commercial centre of Qurm. This makes this area great for easy access to virtually anywhere, including schools, airport and far away offices.

It has a thriving shopping area. It was the location for the very first shopping mall in Oman – Sabco Centre.
Also Qurm City Centre Mall which overshadows everything else in terms of size and choice of outlets here.

The Qurm Natural Park is a favourite place to visit for young and old alike. It is a 400 acre park. Complete with a zoo, amusement rides, fairground, and a horse riding school.
The horse riding school has more than 42 horses and ponies. Great for learning to ride or improve your riding ability.
Qurm also has many good restaurants including The Bank – a must go to place for the young and chic.
